There’s a myth being circulated in Boulder that if you show up to my workout with a pull buoy, then I’ll confiscate it.  Not true!

However I’m very leery of pull buoys… and how many swimmers use them.

Pull buoys do not make you a better swimmer and they provide an artificial sense of buoyancy. Triathletes tend to swim with them too often — or without purpose — and, in doing so, develop and reinforce bad habits.

Here are my thoughts on why you should ditch your pull buoy… and how to use it properly.
