Henri Schoeman has burst onto the scene as one of the world’s premier up-and-coming triathletes. Younger brother of South African Olympic swimmer, Riaan Schoeman, Henri has made a great run over the past few years to establish himself as a legitimate competitor internationally.
As a teenager, Henri became the premier distance freestyler in his age-group and has used this early success to catapult him into a successful career as a triathlete. He is known for his fast start in the swim and is typically one of the first out of the water. Henri has consistently been ranked inside the top ten of the ITU World Rankings and won the bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
In 2021, Henri once again represented South Africa in the Olympics. Henri arrived in Tokyo with a hairline stress fracture to the ankle, and was unfortunately forced to abandon the race during the run.
